Fishing Has No Boundaries looking to add more to next year’s event

Fishing Has No Boundaries

MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) – For 19 years, a group in Monticello has helped people with disabilities enjoy a weekend on the water.

Fishing Has No Boundaries is a nationwide event. It invites people of all ages with disabilities to come and fish for the weekend.

Organizer of the Monticello event Mary Linder said the cool weather this weekend drove some people away. About 55 showed up on Saturday, and 65 on Sunday.

William Jones has been so pleased with the event, he’s come back every year since the beginning.

“They’re doing everything they can to make it for the handicap,” Jones said. “They really work hard to make sure it doesn’t matter what your handicap is they will get you out fishing.”

Linder said the event mainly relies on donations. She said the group will work the rest of the year to raise enough money for a new, more handicap accessible, pontoon boat for next year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
