CARROLL CO., Ind. (WLFI) — Police say drugs may be a factor behind a crash that sent a Monticello woman to an Indianapolis hospital.

The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. Sunday where the Hoosier Heartland meets County Road 800 West in Carroll County.

Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies said a car driven by 63-year-old Kenneth Bowman of Monticello was south bound on County Road 800 West when he allegedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Bowman crashed into a car driven by Frank Jancura Junior of Ohio.

Bowman’s wife Myrna, 55, of Monticello was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with possible internal injuries.

Deputies said they suspect drugs were involved.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing.
