BICKNELL, Ind. (AP) — Fire has destroyed a building that housed a senior citizens center in a rural southwestern Indiana town.

The broke out late Sunday in the Knox County town of Bicknell. WTHI-TV report flames shot high from the roof of the older, two-story brick building in the community’s downtown area.

Crews from several fire departments spent hours putting out the fire. Flames destroyed the roof, although the building’s walls remained standing Monday morning in the town about 50 miles north of Evansville.

Officials say no one was inside the building at the time and that no one was hurt. The fire also damaged a nearby insurance office.

The fire’s cause wasn’t immediately determined.
