Purdue student named Indy 500 Festival Queen

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A Purdue University student was announced this year’s 500 Festival Queen this weekend.

Lauren Issacs, a junior at Purdue University was named the 500 Festival Queen on Saturday. Issacs was one of 33 women selected for the 2014 500 Festival Princess Program. Patia Storms and Brittany Wagner were both picked as members of the 2014 Princess Court.

The women selected will be represented in the 500 Festival events. Issacs will received an educational scholarship, appear in several events leading up to the race and wear a jeweled crown for Festival events and the Indianapolis 500,

Issacs will hold the 500 Festival Queen title throughout the year.

Those interested in the 500 Festival Princess Program must be 18-23, a legal resident of Indiana and a full time student in a Indiana college or university. Click here for a full list of requirements.
