INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Fire investigators are looking into what caused a fire that heavily damaged a west side home early Monday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., firefighters were called to 18 Digby Court in Indianapolis, a neighborhood just north of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

One of the home’s occupants told firefighters he was up watching television, when he heard a loud pop on the porch and saw fire. He said he awakened the other occupant and both evacuated the home.

When fire crews arrived there was fire and smoke showing from the rear of the single story home.

Firefighters brought the flames under control within 20 minutes. Damage is estimated at $40,000.

One dog named Roxy was still unaccounted for, according to the homeowners.
