WARREN CO., Ind. (WLFI) – A Warren County bridge will be closing in early June and will remain that way until mid-November.

State Road 55 will close just north of U.S. 41 in Warren County on June 2 for work on the bridge over Big Pine Creek.

Construction involves a bridge replacement project, which was awarded to Davis Construction Inc. for $2.2 million. The project will replace the steel deck truss bridge originally built in 1952 with a concrete beam bridge.

A detour will be in place during construction. The detour follows U.S. 41 North to State Road 26 East to State Road 55 South. Traffic in the opposite direction will use the same detour, but in reverse.

State Road 55 is scheduled to reopen on November 15.
