APC approves two projects on south side, more to come?

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – With apologies to Horace Greeley, several upcoming projects in Lafayette appear to follow the mantra, “Go South, young man.”

The Area Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval of several projects along Veterans Memorial Parkway Wednesday evening.

One vote was for a commercial subdivision of four lots on the southeast corner of U.S. 231 and the Veterans Memorial Parkway. Another was for a mix of residential and commercial on four lots just to the east off Old Romney Road.

APC Executive Director Sallie Fahey said projects are helped by the lift station built nearby. Fahey said more conceptual plans which are already drawn could be getting closer to being built as well.

“It’s heartening to see old projects get resurrected. It speaks to the health of the community,” said Fahey.

Both projects need final approval before the county commissioners or the Lafayette City Council.
