Salisbury will see detours mid-summer

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lane restrictions will detour Salisbury Street traffic in June and July.

West Lafayette City Engineer Dave Buck said around June 2, the southbound lane of the street will be closed from Rainbow Drive to Sagamore Parkway.

Crews will be repaving, doing sewer work and reconstructing the intersection at Salisbury and Navajo Street. During the month of July crews will switch sides and close the northbound lane.

Buck said drivers will have to use other major roads.

“That will mean drivers heading south on Salisbury will either need to use Sagamore Parkway, Cumberland Avenue, or Kalberer [Road], depending how far from the north they’re coming. Then come over Yeager Road, come down Yeager Road to Northwestern, and come down to Lindberg to get back to Salisbury if they need to,” explained Buck.

As a part of the Salisbury Improvement Project, coordinated lights will be installed to help traffic flow.
