Lafayette Police investigate armed robbery

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A Lafayette Village Pantry was robbed by a man showing a revolver early Sunday morning.

According to Lafayette police, officers responded to the Village Pantry at 1920 Main St. at 1:42 a.m. in reference to the armed robbery.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male dressed in all black, about 5-feet 9-inches and 190 pounds. He displayed a silver revolver while telling the clerk to give him money and cigarettes.

The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported at the scene.
