LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – After six years with the Tippecanoe County American Red Cross, chapter director Bob Wollenburg is retiring. Wollenburg will be stepping down at the end of next week.
Red Cross staff and volunteers will see some changes in responsibilities.
He said the local Red Cross will work more closely with the Red Cross in Indianapolis to see how the two can streamline duties. However, the chapter’s office will remain in Lafayette.
Wollenburg said he wants to spend more time with his family, but will miss being a part of the Red Cross.
“The Red Cross has been a 24 hour a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year career, so it will be quite a change,” said Wollenburg.
Wollenburg may be retiring, but that doesn’t mean he won’t stop helping around the community. He said he would like to spend time volunteering.
