Purdue administrator accepts top spot at Central Florida

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (The Exponent) – A Purdue vice provost has been named the top academic officer at the University of Central Florida.

Dale Whittaker, Purdue vice provost and acting vice president for student affairs, had multiple experiences on the West Lafayette campus. He earned MS and PhD degrees at Purdue in 1984 and 1987 respectively in agricultural engineering. He was at Texas A&M from 1987 to 2002 as a professor. He came back to Purdue in 2002 as associate dean and director of academic programs in the College of Agriculture. He became vice provost in 2010.

Whittaker will become UCF provost and vice president for academic affairs on Aug. 1.
