WARREN COUNTY, Ind. – The State Road 55 Bridge, just north of U.S. 41, in Warren County will close starting Monday, according to INDOT officials.

The Indiana Department of Transportation said construction will begin Monday, June 2 on the State Road 55 Bridge replacement project over Big Pine Creek.

INDOT officials said this project, awarded to Davis Construction Inc. for $2.2 million, replaces the steel deck truss bridge originally built in 1952 with a concrete beam bridge.

According to INDOT, a detour will be in effect. The detour follows U.S. 41 North to State Road 26 East to State Road 55 South. That same detour will be used in reverse for traffic traveling in the opposite direction.

The roadway is scheduled to reopen on Nov. 15 of this year.
