Statewide Silver Alert canceled for Fort Wayne man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department canceled the search for an elderly Fort Wayne man who went missing Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s department canceled the Silver Alert for 80-year-old Thomas Sodano Monday around 12:45 p.m.

Troopers said Sodano was found out of state. No other information is being released.


Sodano was last seen in Fort Wayne at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said Sodano is believed to be in danger and may require medical attention.

Sodano is 5-feet 7-inches tall, 185 pounds, with medium length brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and casual shoes.

Sodano has a tattoo of a bird on each side of his chest and a faded tattoo on his underarm that says, “mom and dad.”

The sheriff’s department said Sodano may have been traveling to Decatur to visit a flea market. Police believe he is driving a 2007 white Ford Ranger with Indiana plate TK439MDY.
