LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Taste of Tippecanoe is right around the corner, but organizers are still looking for people to help out.
Volunteer coordinator Kathleen Farrell-Smith said the event still needs people to help setup in the morning and tear down at the end. They are also looking for people to sell tickets at the gates.
Taste Steering Committee member Jeffrey Barbee said volunteers will work in two to four-hour shifts.
Free admission, along with a souvenir T-shirts will also be given out. He said The Taste relays on the those who donate their time.
“Volunteerism is what keeps these festivals going. We’re making money. We’re trying to raise money to support the arts. We really rely on our community to volunteer. It’s a two-hour commitment. It can be a three hours during the festival or help wrap up the festival. You get the background of great food and great music,” said Barbee.
