Take a tour of Benton County’s gardens

BENTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Hop in the car and head to Benton County Saturday, June 14 to see some quality gardens during the 26th annual Garden Tour and Luncheon at the Oak Grove Heritage House.

This event takes participants through Benton and Warren counties on a tour of nine gardens and ends in a luncheon at the Heritage House.

Event co-chair Aimee Green explained during an appearance on News 18 This Morning, “We give them a map. It takes them through each garden and tells them about each garden and its history. They follow that map throughout the day, and then we have a luncheon that they can come back and join us for.”

While at the Heritage House, visitors can check out the gift shop.

“The gift shop has mainly homemade items [like] woven place mats, woven rugs made on a loom at the Heritage House. We have center pieces that will also be available for sale…They’re open every Tuesday, so if you can’t make it to the garden tour you can still check it out,” said fellow co-chair Melissa Morris.

The luncheon costs $8 per person, and the tour is also $8 per person. It costs $15 to purchase a ticket for both.

Organizers say there’s a chance the luncheon could sell out, so they recommend prepurchasing tickets. Pending availability, tickets can be purchased the day of the garden tour and luncheon.

You can also buy tickets online.

The Heritage House is located on State Road 352 in Oxford, Ind.
