LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette is currently looking for male volunters to be a part of a national study.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette was selected in 2012 to participate in a national study of mentoring techniques with children ages 11 to 15. The study is a three year process that began in October of 2012.

Big Brothers Big Sisters currently has 45 boys that are in need of a big brother. Program manager Peggy Bylund says the experience is beneficial for both parties.

“It would not only change the lives of those young boys, but it would also change the lives of the men that are volunteering. The impact is phenomenal for both lives,” said Bylund.

Those interested in applying to be a big brother or sister can call 765-446-2227 or contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette through their website.
