WILLIAMS, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana conservation officer says a Bedford man has been hospitalized for treatment of head trauma and broken bones after falling 17 feet at a southern Indiana dam.

Officer Jim Schreck says 47-year-old Jerry Lemmons was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital in Kentucky after the fall Saturday night.

WDRB-TV reports he was listed in fair condition Sunday.

Schreck says Lemmons had been fishing when he lost his balance and fell from a platform adjacent to the dam on the East Fork of the White River near the town of Williams, about 70 miles south of Indianapolis.
