LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette school leaders believe that only law enforcement should be allowed to carry a gun on school property.
The LSC school board voted to uphold its current firearm policy in a first reading Monday night.
As News 18 has already reported, it’s part of a statewide mandated vote that all boards must make across Indiana.
“They have been pretty consistent they did add a few minor language changes from the first time they saw this a couple of weeks ago, but it didn’t change the content just clarified the draft policy,” said Superintendent Les Huddle.
The policy is scheduled for a second and final reading next month.
