Man arrested for brandishing firearm on I-465

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana State Police arrested a man for brandishing a firearm on I-465 on Sunday.

Abraham Lopez, 23, of Indianapolis was spotted by ISP on Sunday around 5:11 p.m., on northbound I-465 near the 41.6 mile marker. Lopez was pointing a gun at other vehicles as they passed.

Lopez was pulled over, but when the trooper attempted to arrest Lopez he resisted. The trooper had to use his taser, which struck both the trooper and Lopez.

Lopez was able to escape. He ran toward the ramp for 56th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

Two officers located Lopez as he was trying to carjack a Chevrolet Impala. The two officers were able to take Lopez into custody.
