BENTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A resurfacing project in Benton County will close the intersection of State Road 18 and U.S. 41, according to INDOT.
The project on U.S. 41 will begin Monday, June 16, said officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation. The closure will only affect eastbound traffic on State Road 18, Westbound traffic will still be able to access U.S. 41.
INDOT said there is a detour in place directing traffic south on State Road 71, then east on State Road 352, and back to U.S. 41 heading north.
The State Road 18 closure is scheduled to last approximately 30 days.
The bid was awarded to Brooks Construction Company, Inc. for $9.9 million. Officials said the entire project will resurface U.S. 41 from just north of Boswell to just south of U.S. 52, with a scheduled completion date of May 31, 2015.
