Bakery uses Pinterest for inspiration

LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) – A bakery in Logansport has been taking ideas and recipes off Pinterest and making them a reality.

“I like to try new recipes. I always said when I was bored, I baked and I’m not bored anymore,” owner Phyllis Rossi said. “But it’s always interesting to see exactly how easy it is, how it comes together, and of course what the results are when people taste it.”

Rossi joined the social media site Pinterest in 2012 and said she has been using it for inspiration in what she makes in her bakery ever since.

“A lot of people will bring in something they saw on Pinterest and want to know if we can make it, so we try that,” Rossi explained.

She has used over 500 Pinterest recipes in her bakery since she began using them. She said it’s a great way to keep things fresh.

“We’ve been here 17 years and, of course, we have got out things that people come in for all the time,” Rossi said. “But it’s always interesting to try new things, that way you don’t get stale.”

Rossi said combining her two passions is worth the hard work.

“I always used to say I love my job, but I hate the hours,” said Rossi. “But I do love what I do!” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
