Corydon woman charged with welfare fraud

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A woman from Corydon, Ind. has been charged in Tippecanoe County for welfare fraud.

Laura Spence, 33, is accused of not disclosing her marriage.

Investigators said she received more than $29,000 over a period of nearly six years in SNAP and Medicaid benefits that she was not entitled to while living in Tippecanoe County.

Spence faces one felony count of welfare fraud and two felony counts of theft.
