Crawfordsville woman sentenced for dealing heroin


TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLF) – A Crawfordsville woman was sentenced to 30 years for having 75 individual bags of heroin.

Tawanha Price, 29, was arrested after for a traffic stop in May of 2013, She was driving with a passenger. Price admitted she had heroin, pulled out a bag from under her bra and turned it over to police.

About $11,000 cash was also found in the car.

In August 2013, Price pleaded guilty to dealing in a narcotic drug, three grams or more in exchange for a plea deal. She was sentenced to 30 years, 14 in the Department of Corrections, six years in Community Corrections and 10 years of probation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
