Tippy Connect recognizes young professionals

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Ten young professionals from the Greater Lafayette area are being recognized for their accomplishments.

The 8th Annual Tippy Connect Top 10 Under 40 Awards Luncheon was held at the Lafayette Country Club. Tippy Connect is a networking group of people 21 to 40 years old.

Winners were chosen for their professional work and for the extra time they put in to better the community. Tippy Connect President Brianne Keyes said it is important to award young professionals in order to inspire their professional growth.

Award winner Donnie Alexander said Tippy Connect is creating a culture for young professionals to thrive.

“What it does is gives us an avenue to really stretch our legs and see what makes this community tick. That prepares us for taking on bigger roles in the community [as] city officials or being mayor even. I think that’s a huge step towards a positive for us,” Alexander said.

“These are the future leaders of the community,” said Keyes. “That constant development is only going to improve the community overall.”

Keyes said Tippecanoe County needs to retain a young workforce in order to sustain economic growth.

During the ceremony, Tippy Connect presented a Check to Food Finders Food Bank for nearly $3,000.
