CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said a crash on State Road 25 Saturday evening has turned fatal.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at the intersection of State Road 25 and County Road 800 West.

Carroll County deputies said a white sedan driven by 28-year-old Kristine Brower was traveling southbound on County Road 800. Deputies said for an unknown reason, Brower failed to stop at the stop sign.

Her car entered the intersection and struck a red sedan driven by 62-year-old Edward Hauser. Hauser had three passengers in the car with him at the time. Two of those passengers were airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Deputies said one of those passengers, 78-year-old Cecile Hill, later died from her injuries.

Deputies are continuing to investigate what caused Brower to run the stop sign.

The northbound lanes of State Road 25 were closed for several hours Saturday, as crews worked to clean up the scene. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
