TIPPECANOE Co., Ind. (WLFI) – Fathers and their families got the chance to brush up on local history Sunday at the Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum.
The museum was was free to fathers and their children giving families a chance to look at artifacts and exhibits. Many of those date all the way back to the battle fought outside Lafayette in 1811.
Two different talks on the history and significance of the battlefield were also given around the monument outside the museum.
“This is an opportunity here for fathers to talk to their kids and teach them about their local history,” said program coordinator Kelly Lippie.
Many also made a day of the event by exploring Burnett Creek, walking the Wabash Heritage trail and visiting the nature center.
