Griggs steps down as boys track coach at Jeff

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Jeff boys and girls track and field head coach Larry Griggs has resigned as coach of the boys team. He will continue to coach the girls team.

In the 14 years as the head coach of the boys team, Griggs led the Bronchos to nine City County titles, 11 sectional titles, and one North Central Conference Championship.

Since 2001, his athletes have set nine of the 16 school records. Griggs coached five individual state champions, including Dustin Keller, Lucas Wallace, Carl McQuay, Matt Johnson, and the 2013 4×100 relay team. He coached the team to a second place finish at the 2013 IHSAA state meet.
