Jason Wells Band to rock Taste of Tippecanoe

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) – If you are in the mood for the sweet rhythm of jazz and classic rock, the Taste of Tippecanoe may be the perfect activity for the weekend.

The Jason Wells Band, a trio out of Frankfort, will perform with other local bands for the festival.

“Well, we’re classic rock and blues — kind of bluesy rock, and I guess what sets us apart. There’s a lot of classic rock-blues bands out there, but I think a lot of people out there have said, ‘I have my own kind of sound,'” said lead guitarist and singer Jason Wells.

The band has been together five years and composed three albums.

“I’ve said for a long time that one of these days it’ll come around and that bluesy rock stuff is going to be cool again, and I’m going to be right there,” Wells said.

Wells said his music is as much about the fans as it is about himself.

“This guy came up to me afterwards — this like biker guy — had tears in his eyes and gave me a big hug. I was kind of shocked that one of my songs could do that,” said Wells.

“I love connecting with people, and I love hearing how this song or that song they really like it for whatever reason, and it’s always different.”

“If you like the classic rock and blues sound, then you’re going to like what we do.”

The Jason Wells Band take the stage Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on June 21. For more information on the band, click here.
