LAFAYETTTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A luncheon was held in Lafayette Tuesday to teach businesses how to reduce healthcare costs and improve wellness programs.
More than a dozen businesses attended the Indiana Chamber Connect & Collaborate Luncheon. Businesses were given tips on how to save money and improve workplace health.
Employers were told they need to think about healthcare more because it is one of the largest cost factors for a company.
“What you’ve got to be thinking about is, ‘How do we make those things occur that can make your culture a lot healthier,’ so that next thing you know, you’re seeing these costs, if not reducing, at least flat-lining, so that you can be more competitive,” said Chuck Gillespie, executive director of the Wellness Council of Indiana.
The chamber also provided an update on their Vision 2025.
Officials said they want to improve college and career readiness in high school students, as well as elimintating the business personal property tax.
