Wind spreads controlled burn to garage

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Fire Department was called to a fire at a home on Meharry Street Tuesday afternoon.

LFD responded to a fire at 2101 Meharry Street in Lafayette. Crews had it extinguished in fewer than 15 minutes.

Firefighters said there were no injuries reported.

Officials said the homeowner attempted a controlled burn of dried grass and wind caused the fire to spread to the garage.
