WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The driver of a car sideswiped a tree, then crashed into a home with three people inside in a West Lafayette neighborhood.

Police said just before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, a juvenile driver of a car hit a tree at the the top of a hill on Pawnee Drive then hit a house at the bottom of a hill before coming to a stop.

The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Two children and a nanny were inside the home during the crash. One of the children told News 18 the car struck the home right where her bedroom is located.

“Then we walked inside my room and we saw, like, books on the floor, so we weren’t sure what happened. We looked at that wall and it was, like, burst open,” said Sasha Shunko.
