Taste Preview: Emergency Munchie Truck

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Not all vendors will have to leave their restaurants to serve people downtown at Saturday’s Taste of Tippecanoe. This will be Emergency Munchie Truck’s first time at the Taste.

The food truck’s owner, Amber Davis, said the truck serves vegetarian comfort food.

Some of EMT’s most popular dishes — the mac and cheese stuffed grilled cheese, flavorful black bean burgers, and pretzel sticks served with cheese made with People’s Brewing Company beer — will all be options at the taste.

There will also be an option for vegans and those who eat gluten-free.

“With me being vegetarian, it’s important for me to kind of have options for people that do eat gluten-free or vegan,” Davis said. “We’re going to do a cold, chilled Caribbean rice and black bean salad.”

This year the Taste vendors will feature a taster item for one ticket. Davis will be serving jalapeno popper mac nuggets.
