INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – If it was differences over the planned expansion of the Healthy Indiana Plan that led to the ouster of Family and Social Services Secretary Deb Minott, the governor isn’t saying so.

In a one-on-one interview with News 18’s sister station WISH-TV, Mike Pence avoided specifics.

“As a CEO,” he said, “I literally make personnel decisions every day and I have to always put first and foremost the interest of the people of Indiana and what I think is in the best interest of having agencies that serve our people in the forefront of my decision.”

“And so,” he went on to say, “I can say there’s no single factor in our decision to take the leadership of FSSA in a different direction.”

The appointment of new secretary could take place as early as next week.
