LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – If you are craving barbeque at this year’s Taste of Tippecanoe, you may want to see what is cooking over at Mr. Darryl’s Southern BBQ.

Owner Darryl Richardson said it is the second year they will be at the Taste of Tippecanoe.

“I’m ready babe. I’m just excited about the Taste of Tippecanoe,” said Richardson. “I’m just so glad they asked me to be a part of this, first of all.”

Richardson said it takes a lot of time to prep for the Taste, but it is well worth all the work. Mr. Darryl’s Southern BBQ started preparations on Wednesday.

“We just want to make it to where we have the best. Our best entrees are going to be served,” said Richardson.

Mr. Darryl’s will be offering a number of food items this year, like pulled pork and ribs.

“We’ll offer pulled pork, our specialty. We’ll have some really awesome ribs, rib tips. We’re going to have bratwursts, hot links and some chicken, along with some lemonade. Some home, fresh squeezed lemonade,” said Richardson.

He added he likes to be involved because it helps the Tippecanoe Arts Federation. But more importantly, he likes being a part of the Lafayette community.

“Thank you Lafayette, really, for helping Mr. Darryl’s Southern BBQ just grow, and grow, and grow,” said Richardson. “But I’d like to also see everybody come out to the Taste of Tippecanoe this weekend, I think this is going to be a great day.”

The Taste of Tippecanoe is this Saturday, June 21 in downtown Lafayette. It begins at 4 p.m. and lasts until midnight.

WLFI will have a live broadcast from the Taste of Tippecanoe on Saturday at 6 p.m.
