WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Developers broke ground Monday morning at what will become the Mid-America Commerce Park near Wolcott, Ind.
Public officials from surrounding cities and towns gathered to celebrate the initiation of construction at the site of the new 600-acre Mid-America Commerce Park.
Garmong Construction Services will begin work on the 60,000-square-foot White County Industrial Shell Building. The site, which is less than a mile from Interstate 65 on U.S. 24, will also have its own water tower.
White County Economic Development President Randy Mitchell said it has been a process that has spanned 20 years.
“This is just a happy day, as you can see here. With over 60 people here in attendance, you can see the support from the county, from the commissioners, [and] from the council,” said Mitchell. “This is the way it is in White County. Everybody works well together to the benefit of something great like this.”
Mitchell says the building is expected to be completed by May 2015.
