LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Plans are in place to move forward with another phase of the Lafayette Master Trail Plan.
Lafayette City Engineer Jenny Leshney said the city is looking to construct a new trail near Old 231 and Twyckenham Boulevard. She said the trail would run north along Old 231 and continue along Beck Lane to the west.
“Where Beck Lane does a 90 degree turn to the north — we’ll be heading out across the field, and we’ll be connecting that trail to Old Romney Road,” Leshney said. “Our hope is to take all of the pedestrian traffic that is along Teal Road down this trail to get it into the shopping and commercial area.”
Leshney said they are still looking to purchase land to build the trail. She is hoping construction will the summer of 2015.
