Purdue football adds another commitment for 2015

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Purdue football team continues its recruiting momentum for the Class of 2015. The Boilermakers added a verbal commitment from Markell Jones, a running back from Columbus, Ind.

The senior-to-be announced his decision on twitter Tuesday, “verbally committed to Purdue University #BoilerUp”.

Jones is rated by “GoldandBlack.com” as a three-star recruit, and the 17th best prospect in the state of Indiana. He rushed for nearly 2,700 yards and over 40 touchdowns as a junior for Columbus East. In the 2013 4A state title game, he rushed 32 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns en route to 28-27 win over Bishop Dwenger.

According to “Rivals.com,” Jones had received offers from Toledo, Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Ball State and others.
