WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Former Purdue basketball player Curt Clawson now has a new job, a Florida congressman.

The Republican businessman, who played for the Boilermakers from 1981 to 1984, won a special election to replace former U.S. Representative Trey Radel.

Radel resigned after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

Clawson will serve out the remainder of Radel’s term in Florida’s 19th District, until November when Clawson will run for re-election.
