LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A Democratic candidate officially announces he will run for the job of Tippecanoe County assessor in November.
Eric Grossman made the announcement Monday before about two dozen supporters.
A 2007 graduate of Purdue, Grossman worked in the assessor’s office from 2008 to 2012 before leaving to grow his construction business.
He promises to better utilize office personnel and make the office more transparent for the public.
“They want to know how their assessment is derived, how they can research solutions if they think it’s incorrect,” said Grossman. “They just want to feel like they are dealing with someone who is on their side.”
Grossman is also a part owner of DT Kirby’s in downtown Lafayette.
He will face incumbent Republican Linda Phillips in November.
