COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Two children were discovered in a car outside a Columbus grocery store Saturday, less than two weeks after a father was arrested in a similar situation.

Police arrested the father, 39-year-old James S. Drechsel, on two preliminary charges of child neglect, both Class D felonies.

A 7-year-old and infant were inside a vehicle parked outside Kroger, 3110 N. National Road. According to police, the temperature outside was in the mid to upper 80s.

On June 19, a different father was arrested after police say a passerby found a 2-year-old in a car outside FairOaks Mall. The father was slumped over the wheel of the car.
