Utility commission looking for new member

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A nominating committee is looking for applicants for an opening on the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

The opening was created by the appointment of commission Chairman Jim Atterholt as Gov. Mike Pence’s chief of staff. Applications must be received in the governor’s office by the close of business July 11.

The nominating committee will interview applicants at a public meeting July 30.

The committee will recommend three candidates from which Pence will select a replacement for Atterholt, whose term as commission chairman expires March 31, 2017.
