White Co. facility violates IDEM permit

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Several complaints of a foul odor coming from a facility in White County has resulted in a permit violation.

After an inspection by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management on June 3, Waste No Energy, LLC was cited for not installing a biofilter system for odor control and for installing a larger than permitted waste storage tank.

Waste No Energy uses the gases from agricultural waste and turns it into energy. IDEM is giving Waste No Energy until the middle of July to comply with their permit.

If the company does not comply, IDEM said they will take further action.
