LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – CityBus could be changing a trolley route, connecting Purdue to Lafayette.
Two public hearings will be held at CityBus next Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The hearings will allow the public to speak on possible changes to the south end of the 5A Happy Hollow route.
CityBus Manager Tonya Agnew said the changes are being made due to the Happy Hollow Road project.
“It’s really important for us to gather feedback and make sure what we’re looking at is going to work for our riders and for those that it’s going to impact. We also want to be sure we have lots of time on our end to do the behind the scenes changes,” said Agnew.
The proposed changes would go into effect on Aug. 25. However, there will not be changes to the free trolley rides for all riders.
Other possible changes include:
- Change trolley pick times from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes.
- Adding Saturday service January through March.
- Eliminating Saturday service from May to mid-August.
- Changing the name of the route to The Connector.
