LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A piece of nostalgia could be coming back to life for Lafayette area residents forty and older.
The Lafayette Dog n Suds is raising donations to bring its two-headed Crosley back to life. The car currently sits behind the drive-in restaurant and has sat there since the 1970s.
Dog n Suds wants to raise more than $5,000 to restore the car.
Over the years, Dog n Suds owner Dan Washington said many customers have asked him if he would ever have it running again.
“It means a lot. It means that we’re a part of something here in the community that they would like to see continued and that hopefully we can help continue that,” said Williams.
The car last ran during one of former Lafayette Mayor Jim Riehle’s campaigns.
Washington said he will match every dollar donated for the cars restoration and plans to show the car at schools and other local events.
