LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Come celebrate this year’s 4th of July at Lafayette’s Stars and Stripes concert and fireworks display held in downtown Lafayette.
On Thursday, final preparations were made for the annual Stars and Stripes concert held on July 4. The planning committee has once again selected the downtown location at Riehle Plaza.
This year’s concert will feature the Lafayette Citizens Band, the Greater Lafayette Freedom Singers, the Big Swing Band, the Indiana All-Star High School Show Choir and the Tippecanoe Ancient Fife and Drum Corps. The live music, which starts at 7 p.m., will buildup to a fireworks show as a finale.
“This promises to be another great concert and fireworks display to equal or surpass our previous activities,” said Stars & Stripes Chairman Lisa Decker in a release to News 18.
The concert will end at approximately 10 p.m. followed by the 25 minute fireworks display, which will be launched from several points along banks of the Wabash River.
There will be many locations around the Lafayette and West Lafayette areas to view the fireworks. Parking should be ample in both Lafayette and West Lafayette and in the parking garages surrounding the downtown area.
Decker said attendees are urged to bring their own seating.
