TIPPECANOE Co., Ind. (WLFI) – Tippecanoe County is considering providing a new service to keep health care costs down.

During Monday’s County Commissioners meeting, the board will consider the use of a web based program called Castlight. The online service allows employees to find the best deal on prescription drugs and other medical services.

Tippecanoe County Commissioner Tom Murtaugh said the service could save county employees out of pocket expenses and help the county save money on their health care costs.

“This is another tool we’re putting in the tool box for our employees to reduce their overall health care cost,” said Murtaugh.

He said implementing the service would help keep premiums as low as possible.
