“Water Ball” in Wolcott on eve of Summer Festival

Water Ball in Wolcott

WOLCOTT, Ind. (WLFI) – A 5K run, a tractor show, and plenty of other amusements will be part of Friday’s 46th annual Wolcott Summer Festival.

On Thursday evening, the focus was water ball, a game where two sides use fire hoses to try to move a ball held up on a line. The team that gets the ball to the other side or over the furthest in three minutes wins.

Coming all the way from North Carolina to visit relatives, Nick Cooper was pushed into playing the game by his dad.

“Well at first I thought they were just pulling the hose back on me but then I realized that it wasn’t them pulling the hose it was just me going backwards with the hose,” said Cooper.

There won’t be any water ball tomorrow, but there will be a number of other activities, all starting with a pancake and sausage breakfast at 7 a.m.
