ELKHART, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana Michigan Power spokesman says a squirrel got into a substation in Elkhart County and knocked out power to 4,200 customers.

Brian Bergsma says the power was knocked out about 12:15 p.m. Monday and is expected to be restored by 4 p.m. The outage comes less than a week after storms that included 11 tornadoes across northern Indiana left thousands without power, some for several days.

I&M says 2,967 customers in St. Joseph County and 1,248 in Elkhart County are without power.
