Fountain Co. Sheriff recommends deputy be fired

FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Fountain County Sheriff William Sanders wants one of his deputies to be fired.

Deputy Jason Parker has been on paid administrative leave since April, following a complaint from a citizen.

Sheriff Sanders said Indiana State Police have conducted an investigation and no formal charges have been filed, but he is recommending that Parker be fired.

Sanders declined to comment on the specifics of the incident.

The matter will be heard before a merit board on July 15.
