Dancing officials add new wristband to event

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A new wristband at Dancing and Cruising in the Streets promises to make it more convenient for downtown visitors and businesses.

Greater Lafayette Commerce will be handing out blue wristbands free of charge.. so people aren’t detered from heading to the downtown area next weekend.

The wristbands will be given to those wanting to go to a downtown business rather than taking part in the festival. Each gate will be passing out the blue wristbands.

Dancing co-chair Matt Buche said the change has been a welcomed one for many downtown business.

“We’ve taken feedback from many of the restaurants and businesses downtown. We wanted to be as business-friendly and as convenient as possible for not only the businesses, but more importantly the consumers that are coming downtown,” said Buche.

While the blue wristband will get you into downtown, Buche said they will be monitoring those attempting to wander into the festival.

Tickets for the festival are currently available and can be purchased here.
